The current focus of the Dawson Institute is programming, and it organizes at least one lecture, symposium, or workshop each semester, largely funded by the G. Hugh and Beverly C. Wamble Endowment for Religious Liberty. The Institute often cooperates with other campus entities in hosting such events. While the Institute understands its commitment to the freedom of religion as an expression of its Baptist heritage, past programs showcase a wide range of speakers, authors, ministers, and religious leaders from diverse religious traditions and backgrounds and whose work both promotes religious freedom and strengthens the understanding of religion, politics and society.
